I still vividly recall my first visit to Whistler.  It was early December in 1967 on a school ski club trip.  That day was the start of my love for Whistler.

In 1974 I finished university and immediately took the closest employment I could find to Whistler and that was in Squamish.  The next winter the mountain beckoned and I was lured to become a ski bum living above Rudi's Steakhouse at Nesters.  At that time there was no food store, medical centre, pharmacy, liquor store.  And hardly a restaurant or bar!  Compare that to now.  It's hard to believe what has transpired.  Even the mountains are better.  Now we have high speed quads, great grooming and two great mountains instead of one.  Our parks are second to none and our trail network has become world famous.  Golfers enjoy three courses in Whistler and two more in Pemberton.  We can wine and dine at a different place every night of the month and shop at a great selection of local and international shops.  And best of all those unskied slopes are still there for the early bird!

Time has moved on and now my wife Jane and our children live in Alpine Meadows.  Jane and I have decided we are here in paradise forever.
